When people with disabilities get shut out, it’s not just their loss — everybody loses.
You lose the solutions only they could see. Disabled folks are world-class problem-solvers because they have to be. Think curb cuts, captions, voice-to-text. All started as “disability accommodations” and now help everyone.
You make your community weaker. Inclusion isn’t charity, it’s infrastructure. Without every perspective, you’ve got fewer ideas, less resilience, and a smaller safety net when things get rough.
You set a dangerous precedent. Once it’s OK to leave one group out, it’s easier to leave others out. Eventually, the system won’t be built for you, either.
You waste talent. Disability doesn’t mean lack of intelligence or creativity. The person you ignore could be the one with the next big idea.
And here’s the kicker: bodies age, health changes, and any one of us can become disabled overnight. If the system isn’t inclusive now, it won’t be ready when it’s your turn.
A world designed for disabled people works better for everyone. Accessibility isn’t a handout — it’s a smart investment in the future we all have to live in.
Thanks for being you,

So true. This is such an important perspective, and sadly, one that is often difficult to get across to people. Thank you for being one of the pioneering thinkers in this world.🙏❤️
