About AuDHD in Translation
Welcome to the space where the neurodivergent mind finally makes sense â not through jargon or pity, but through clarity, humor, and humanity.
Iâm Brian R. King, a storyteller, social worker, and fellow AuDHD traveler. I write to translate the inner chaos of autism and ADHD into something you can actually work with â so you can stop fighting your wiring and start using it.
This isnât a âfix yourselfâ newsletter. Itâs a âfind yourselfâ one.
What Youâll Get Here
1. Language for What You Feel
You know those thoughts that swirl in your head but never quite make it into words? I put those into sentences. The goal is to help you name your experiences so you can stop apologizing for them.
2. Real Tools, Not Just Inspiration
I donât hand out platitudes. I share frameworks and practices I use with clients and myself â things that work with neurodivergent brains, not against them. Simple, practical shifts you can apply today.
3. Stories That Hit Home
Some days itâs coaching insights. Other days, itâs fiction that sneaks up on your heart. Stories like Agathaâs Garden and Letters from a Stranger help you see your own humanity in new ways â sometimes through laughter, sometimes through tears.
4. Gentle Challenges
Iâll nudge you (kindly but firmly) to question old narratives â the ones that say you have to mask, perform, or shrink yourself to be loved or respected. Growth doesnât have to hurt, but it does ask for honesty.
5. Community That Gets It
This is a corner of the internet where nuance isnât only welcome â itâs expected. Whether youâre a parent, teacher, therapist, or neurodivergent adult, youâll find connection, curiosity, and a sigh of relief that says: âFinally, someone gets it.â
Why I Write
Because too many of us grew up being misunderstood â and now weâre trying to unlearn that while teaching the next generation something better.
I write to make that easier.
I write so you can see yourself with more compassion and less confusion.
And I write because words, when chosen well, can heal.
If You Stick Around
Youâll start noticing yourself differently.
Youâll recognize patterns before they hijack you.
Youâll laugh a little more at your brain instead of fighting it.
And maybe â just maybe â youâll feel like you belong here.
