About AuDHD in Translation

Welcome to the space where the neurodivergent mind finally makes sense — not through jargon or pity, but through clarity, humor, and humanity.

I’m Brian R. King, a storyteller, social worker, and fellow AuDHD traveler. I write to translate the inner chaos of autism and ADHD into something you can actually work with — so you can stop fighting your wiring and start using it.

This isn’t a “fix yourself” newsletter. It’s a “find yourself” one.

What You’ll Get Here

1. Language for What You Feel

You know those thoughts that swirl in your head but never quite make it into words? I put those into sentences. The goal is to help you name your experiences so you can stop apologizing for them.

2. Real Tools, Not Just Inspiration

I don’t hand out platitudes. I share frameworks and practices I use with clients and myself — things that work with neurodivergent brains, not against them. Simple, practical shifts you can apply today.

3. Stories That Hit Home

Some days it’s coaching insights. Other days, it’s fiction that sneaks up on your heart. Stories like Agatha’s Garden and Letters from a Stranger help you see your own humanity in new ways — sometimes through laughter, sometimes through tears.

4. Gentle Challenges

I’ll nudge you (kindly but firmly) to question old narratives — the ones that say you have to mask, perform, or shrink yourself to be loved or respected. Growth doesn’t have to hurt, but it does ask for honesty.

5. Community That Gets It

This is a corner of the internet where nuance isn’t only welcome — it’s expected. Whether you’re a parent, teacher, therapist, or neurodivergent adult, you’ll find connection, curiosity, and a sigh of relief that says: “Finally, someone gets it.”

Why I Write

Because too many of us grew up being misunderstood — and now we’re trying to unlearn that while teaching the next generation something better.

I write to make that easier.
I write so you can see yourself with more compassion and less confusion.
And I write because words, when chosen well, can heal.

If You Stick Around

You’ll start noticing yourself differently.
You’ll recognize patterns before they hijack you.
You’ll laugh a little more at your brain instead of fighting it.
And maybe — just maybe — you’ll feel like you belong here.
